My name is Anissa and I am an art student from southeast Wisconsin specializing in various mediums including graphite, colored pencil, crochet, ceramics, metalwork, and wire. I currently run a small jewelry business called Firefly Song where I sell my handmade wire jewelry at craft fairs and online. I started my small business when I was fifteen years old, making occasional sales to friends and family. I “officially” launched my business publicly in November of 2023, when I was eighteen years old. Currently, my profit from Firefly Song goes toward my education at Alverno College where I am working toward a dual major in art education and art therapy.
The Story of Firefly Song
When I was in middle school, I walked the halls as close to the wall as possible with my hair covering my face and my face looking down at the floor. I didn’t want anyone to look at me. I just wanted to hide. Not much changed during my freshman year of high school (9th grade); I still wanted to blend in with the crowd. In 10th grade, I started making jewelry. I found that when I wore unique jewelry, I wanted to show it off. This resulted in finally being able to walk the halls of my school with my head held high. In some classes, my grades even improved as I had more confidence when I gave presentations while wearing my jewelry. I felt like a different person. Eventually, I had made so much that I realized that I’ll never be able to wear it all. So, I decided to share my skills with you in hopes that wearing jewelry as unique as you are would inspire confidence in you when you need it most. Walk with your head held high.

What metal is your jewelry made of?
The majority of my jewelry is silver-plated. This means that my jewelry has a silver layer on top of another metal. If jewelry is not properly cared for, this layer can wear off. If this layer wears off, the jewelry will still be wearable; it will just be a copper color instead (which some people end up liking). Note that copper can react with certain oils on your skin and turn your skin a dark color temporarily. Rest assured that this dark color will come off easily with water and you can clean it off your jewelry. (This will only happen if the silver layer wears off.) Due to recent feedback, I am working on switching to stainless steel. When this switch happens, any remaining silver-plated jewelry will go on sale.
Is your jewelry nickel-free?
Yes.
Does your jewelry tarnish?
All genuine silver jewelry will eventually tarnish (even .940 silver), so yes. To remove the tarnish, rub your jewelry with a microfiber cloth.
How should I care for my jewelry?
Avoid getting jewelry wet unless cleaning it. Take off jewelry in humid environments like the sauna. Remove the tarnish with a microfiber cloth. Take off jewelry when doing intense physical activity as excessive sweat can make jewelry dirty. Take off jewelry when sleeping.
How should I clean my jewelry?
If jewelry is tarnished, a microfiber cloth will work. Otherwise, I recommend using dawn dish soap and warm water. Note: use GENTLE cloths or brushes to avoid scratching jewelry.
Where do you ship?
Right now, I only ship within the United States. This may change in the future.
How long will shipping take?
After I ship the item (in 1-3 days), it should be there within 7 days. Expect your order to arrive anywhere between 3-10 days after ordering.
What is your return policy on undamaged items?
You may return an item up to 30 days after receiving it. You are responsible for the shipping cost.
What is your return policy on damaged items?
If the damage is caused by user error and I can repair it, I am willing to do so for a fee (which is a variable amount depending on the extent of the damage and the materials cost). If the item broke during transit and you can prove it, I will repair the item if I can. Depending on the item, I may be able to replace it if it is irreparable. If I cannot repair it or replace it, I will give you a partial refund. Please email anissa.firefly.song@gmail.com with your circumstances and I will work with you as these are just general policies.
What if my package is stolen?
I can offer a discount on a replacement or any future purchases, but I cannot refund the item.
